Each Quarter Season of the Universal Community Calendar Year has 2 celebratory festivals:

A 'Cardinal' Festival which coincides with the Equinox or Solstice and opens the Season, and

A 'Mid Season' Festival which marks the mid point between the previous Equinox or Solstice and the next

Collectively these make up 'The 8 Fold Year'

These celebrate the New Year and the equinoxes & solstices and so the transitions from one Quarter Season to the next

They are symbolised by '☉' for the Sun, '⊕' the Earth symbol - for the Equinoxes & Solstices PLUS their associated Zodiac symbol

There are also 4 Mid Season Festivals, which occur on the middle 2 days of the middle Triad Month of each Quarter

These are:
