The Moving of ♂ (Mars)?

Are There Clues to Mars' History in its Astrological Symbol?

I've recently been studying astrology as part of work on this calendar and Phase 7 of Project Freeman, 'Astronomology', and in particularly just been learning a bit more about the astrological symbols for each Star Sign and Planet.

The Planetary symbols are made of various combinations of 3 main glyphs:

'O' - the circle, which symbolises 'Spirit'

'◠ or ◡' - the half circle, symbolising 'Soul/Mind'

'+' - the cross, 'Matter'

For example what we, using Latin call 'Mercury' has the symbol '☿' which stands for Soul over Spirit over Matter. ☿ is unique in being 'hermaphrodite' having +ve and -ve polarity and is the only planet with all 3 aspects contained in its symbol

Now 'Venus' has the symbol '' which is Spirit over Matter and 'Mars' is her opposite and so is said to have the symbol of Matter over Spirit, which we would expect then to be the 'Venus' symbol upside down i.e. ♁, but in fact this now apparently means 'Earth' even though Earth has the other symbol ⊕ and 'Mars' symbol is:

which doesn't seem quite right does it?

Whilst musing on this it occurred to me that this symbol could in fact be showing what has happened to Mars at some point in its history. The arrow head is actually half of the cross of matter '+' if you cut it diagonally through the middle, and its stem, instead of being vertical is offset about 45° to the right. Having read 'Worlds In Collision' by Velikovsky (thanks to Dr. Rock, Ben Aur), I wondered if this may mean that the symbol is showing us that 'Mars' has lost half of its 'Matter' and has moved its position further out from the Sun (we count the planets from left to right away from the Sun)

A few days after receiving this 'message' ;) I saw a scientific article posted on line which suggested that Mars had indeed "...lost half of its surface in a major collision..." (I lost this article when my laptop died but will repost it here as soon as I can find it again)

And, if we consider the size of Mars relative to Mercury, Venus and Earth we can see that it would make sense if 'Mars' was actually in between ☿ 'Mercury' and 'Venus'

The Polarity Principle

And, if we restore ♂ Mars to this position it also realigns the planetary astrological polarities! Currently, with ♂ Mars between ⊕ Earth and ⚳ Ceres in the asteroid belt (which I think we might find to be the remnants of an earlier destroyed planet) these are out of synch...

The polarities always alternate in astrology probably to reflect what they do in the duality of nature (North/South, Up/Down, Black/White etc). For example with the Star Signs we start with ♈ (Aries) being +ve then ♉ (Taurus) being -ve and then alternate back to ♊ (Gemini) +ve and so on around the ecliptic. We should see the same thing with the Planets, but with Mars where it is now we have the following sequence:

+

- (/+)

-

+

+

-

+

-

As we can see this does not alternate correctly in the first half of the sequence.

But, if we put Mars back where it maybe was before we get the +/- alternation again:

And What About Jupiter & Saturn?

Similar things (damage/ejection of matter/movement) may have happened to Jupiter and Saturn if their symbols are anything to go by...

Jupiter is expressed as Mind/Soul over Matter which would suggest a half circle ◡ above a cross + but its symbol is actually '♃' with the distorted cross stuck on the side of the half circle

And Saturn is Jupiter's opposite and so is expressed as Matter over Mind/Soul which we would expect to be shown as a cross + on top of a half circle ◠ but in fact we have '♄' again showing a distorted cross with the half circle stuck on the side...

It's possible that Jupiter's symbol has been made to look a bit like a '4' and Saturn's like a '5', as they are the 4th and 5th respectively of the visible planets?

Or, maybe these planets have been impacted, discharged material and/or moved also?

Velikovsky suggested that before Venus became a planet in its current orbit it was a comet, made from matter discharged from ♃ Jupiter (their +ve polarities are in sympathy with this hypothesis), which then had several encounters with both ⊕ Earth and  Mars and led to ♂ also encountering ⊕ Earth. Well, if Mars orbit has changed from between ☿ Mercury and Venus to where it is now that's highly possible, isn't it?

Symbols of An Alien Sky..?

And more food for thought in this area since I started this musing is this series of 3 documentaries sent my way by the good Dr. of Rock Ben Aur. They're very detailed but if you're into this topic I'm sure you'll give 'em a go anyway! (The 2nd Episode focusses on Mars)

What do YOU think?

More on this as soon as time and my dongle credit allow!...
